Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research, 1998

The Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research is a leader in psychoanalytic education, research, and training. It maintains training programs for interested mental health professionals and for other professionals who feel that a psychoanalytic understanding can enrich their pursuits. Other training programs include those in adult psychoanalysis, child and adolescent psychoanalysis, and infant child and adolescent psychodynamic psychotherapy. The Center also has an outstanding multidisciplinary research group. Since its establishment in 1945, the Center has provided low fee psychoanalytic treatment to people in the greater New York metropolitan area. As part of the Department of Psychiatry of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, the Center is an integral part of a scientific environment enriched by experts from the biological, psychological, and social sciences.
